BOOKS Battle MOVIES!!!! Ding Ding Ding
I've watched movies before reading the book and it kind of stinks. It takes away from what the pages uncover. I spend the entire time seeing the movie images instead of making my own. I have read books , such as the Twilight Saga and Harry Potter Series, before actually watching the movies. I think it's more fun to see what the movie has and what it left out. I feel like I know little secrets that people who didn't read the book but watched the movie don't know.

Personal Topic- Life After Death...Among the Living
On Christmas morning, I experienced death for the first time. An old family friend, Mr. Jones, had passed in his sleep while staying at my family's house for the holidays. That day was the hardest day I've had to come to terms with because of the situation and close to four months after, there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of the scene I woke up to. I remember Mr. Jones as the man he was when he was alive, but also the man I found lifeless.
For the first time since his funeral in December, I made my way to where he rests to leave some flowers on his grave. As I was walking through the cemetery, I saw all the graves either had flowers or no flowers. And a sad reality hit me, this is where life comes to end...a few words on a granite stone and some fake flowers. Life has went on without those people by the scene of the littered cemetery.
When I finally got to where Mr. Jones rests, my sadness was gone. For that moment I realized that his life didn't end there with the words on the granite stone and the fake flowers. His life after death was the life in me. It's the life in my memories of him and the valuable life lessons he taught me. The shell of the man I admired lays there in the cemetery, but his love, his mind, and his soul lives on in every one he meant so much to.

Differences in Men and Women Articles
From the discussions we have had in class, there is a huge difference in writing for men and women. Women articles are about beauty, relationships, love, men, fitness (in terms of being skinny and smaller), body image, and everything that targets a woman's feeling. Men on the other hand are sweet and to the point. Men articles have words like strong, what women want, money, fitness (in terms or being stronger and bigger, and things that would appeal to a man's ego.
I can also see the difference in commercials aimed for sexes. Men commercials normally have a guy using a product and getting a beautiful woman. Women commercials have a women using a product to be a more independent/strong woman or using a product to be closer to a man.
I guess that's how we can determine what is aimed for women and what is aimed for men because of what attracts them to it.

Private Versus Public Writing
I feel that private writing is something you do for yourself and have the liberty to share it with whoever you wish. But I feel that with public writing is something that you want people to see and can be any way you it to be just as private writing. I think that personal and public writing have a the personality of the writer no matter what the piece is about.
